The 22nd China International Semiconductor Expo (IC China 2025) was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from November 23 to 25. Attracting more than 1,000 exhibitors, the expo fully demonstrated the leaping development of China's semiconductor industry—evolving from "following the pace" to "keeping pace" and even "taking the lead" in some segments.

On the expo site, journalists observed that China’s semiconductor industry is now gradually shifting from import dependence to independent innovation, spanning the entire chain from raw material production to packaging, testing and inspection. Kong Fanwang, one of the exhibitors, stated in an interview with China News Service that polyphenylene oxide (PPO)—a critical material for the upstream chip manufacturing sector—was highly reliant on imports in the early days. Thanks to joint research efforts with downstream enterprises, this product has now gradually achieved localization, marking a breakthrough from scratch, with its costs also slashed significantly.
